Divine Inspiration { Baton Rouge Fine Art Photographer }

As an artist, it’s necessary to step out of bounds and challenge yourself with new techniques and ideas. Most of my portrait work is editorial and fashion-inspired; this one is a bit different.

Modeled by my friend Robin Spalding of Robin Spalding Fine Art Photography, I listened to her as she prepared for one of her fine art self-portraits and then took a few of my own, requesting that she “run toward the cliff as though she were going to leap.” She gave great hair flips! ;)

This image was inspired by conversations we’d had earlier in the day about taking the plunge into the things we love to create and do for ourselves. We’d listened to lots of music and talked about inspiration – where it comes from and what we do with it.

Thinking of a song we’d been talking about before we modeled for each other, the lyrics of Lana Del Rey come to mind, “I had a dream I was fine, I wasn’t crazy, I was divine.”

I want to know: what inspires you?
